This temple is the Shaktipeetha of Lalita Devi. It is believed that Bhagwati Lalita Devi appeared here, after the fingers of Sati had fallen on the bank of river Yamuna. The old temple has been renovated by Prabhudatta Brahmchari on 16th Nov. 1987.

Today this 103 feet high temple with 41 feet high entrance gate has become the centre of devotion among the devotees. During Navratries nine forms of Devi are decorated differently which fetches a very large crowd of devotees.

Apart from the murtis of the Mother Goddess, there is a famous Shakti Yantra in the sanctum. There is also a separate shrine dedicated to Shiva in the form of Paras Shivling. Outside the sanctum sanctorum there is a murti of Baba Kaal Bhairav.

Apart from this the temple has murtis of Ganesha, Balgopal Krishna, Sri Ram and Mata Sita, Lakshman, Lakshmi Narayan, Radha Krishna, Hanuman and the Navgrahas.

The most important festival celebrated in the temple is Navratri.An annual fair is held for three day starting from Vaishakh Shukla Paksha Saptami.

Maa Lalitha Devi Temple is one of the Shaktipeetahs as it is believed that the finger of Goddess Sati fell here. This is a unique Goddess  Shakti  Temple as she is worshipped in three forms  Ma Lalitha, Ma Saraswati and Ma Kali. It is believed that the Pandavas visited the temple and offered prayers here.

The main Goddess worshipped in the shrine Ma Lalitha is also considered a Tantric Devi.

The temple is also famous for Pandav Koop believed to have been created by Bhimasena. There is also a very ancient temple dedicated to Bhava Bhairav built by the Pandavas.

  • Do deposit your offerings in the hundi only.

  • Do not smoke at Temple.
  • Do not consume alcoholic drinks at Temple.
  • Do not eat non-vegetarian food in the Kshetram.
  • Do not approach mediators for quick Darshanam. It may cause inconvenient to others.
  • Do not carry any weapon inside the temple.
  • Do not wear any head guards like helmets, caps, turbans and hats inside the temple premises.
  • Do not perform Sastanga Pranama inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
  • Do not take much time while performing Sparsa Darshanam to God in Garbhagriha.
  • Do not buy spurious prasadams from street vendors.
  • Do not encourage beggars at Temple.
  • Do not spit or create nuisance in the premises of the temple.
