Thayumanavar Temple is situated in Trichy, Tamilnadu.  Lord Shiva is the divinity god here and the sanctuary itself is at the foothills of the Rock Fort in Trichy.

The Thayumanvar temple on one side of the bank of the stream Cauvery. There was a woman living on the flip side of the bank. She was an impassioned lover of the Lord and went to the sanctuary and implored Lord Shiva everyday amid her whole pregnancy. One day as she came back from the sanctuary, she had her delivery pain. There was surge in the Cauvery amid that time and her mother couldn't cross the waterway and come to help her in her delivery. The woman implored Lord Shiva. God Shiva camouflaged as the woman's mother delivered her infant without any entanglements.

From that point, on adoring Thayumanavar, a woman can guarantee safe delivery  with the Lord's favours.

Thayumanavar Temple Story

As indicated by legend, there was a lady living on the opposite side of waterway Cauvery, who went by this sanctuary consistently. She had been going to the sanctuary for a long time, which she kept on doing actually amid her pregnancy. One day after she completed the Darshan, she found that the stream was overflowed and closed. As she held up for the stream to subside, she created a serious pregnancy pain. Since she was in the process of childbirth, individuals around halted her from backtracking home. However the lady was requiring going back home to her mother, who was the main individual she sufficiently trusted to help her overcome the pregnancy pain.

God Shiva went to her, hidden as her mother, and helped her conceive the kid securely and afterward vanished. Later when her real mother came enquiring her, the lady understood that it was Lord Shiva who acted the hero in camouflage. As Lord Shiva himself served her follower as her mother, here the chief diety is called as "Thayumanavar" (God, who is additionally the "Mother") This occurrence is likewise celebrated as an occasion called "Chettipenn Maruthuvam" on the fifth day of the Chithirai Festival at this temple.

Do not approach mediators for quick Dharshanam. It may cause inconvenient to others
Do not carry any weapon inside the temple
Do not wear any head guards like helmets ,caps ,turbans and hats inside the temple premises
