Vamana's Three Steps

Vamana asked bali that he wants the land which covers his three step feet. Everybody present in that sacrificial event got surprised about the boon that vamana asked for. Mahabali without refusing gave the Brahmin with the boon what he asked for with whole heartedly. On receiving the boon the vamana took his first large step to earth and said bali that now the earth is mine and took his next second large step to heaven which was ruling by bali and said him that now the heaven is also mine place.

After finishing the two large steps now vamana asked asura king bali that I have already occupied the heaven and earth and now there is no further place to occupy you tell where I can take my last step, on hearing thisshukracharya and other sages warned bali that boy in the form of Brahmin is not a normal person he is supposed to be the incarnation of lord Vishnu, but king bali didn't bother the warning of shukracharya he told him that I gave a words to vamana so I don?t want to refuse it.

After that bali addressed the vamana and said that there is nothing left here since you occupied whole earth and heaven, so you take your third final on my head by saying this bali bowed down his head. Pleased by his words lord Vishnu showed up on his original form and pushed bali under the ground by his feet and blessed him that you will be ruling the world under the earth (i.e) Pataal Lok.Therefore Lord Vishnu in the form of Vamana avatar restored the heavenly world to devatas , indra and all gods.

Vamana Avatar Story

Vamana is the fifth incarnation of God Vishnu that showed up in Treta Yuga. Vaman implies a Dwarf "Vamana", as the name demonstrates ,One who has a little body. After growing vamana as per the instruction of his mother Aditi to safeguard the wellbeing's of gods and human's vamana went to meet Bali. As per the guidance of guru Shukracharya king bali started performing Ashwamedha yagya with the horse by gathering sages and priests at that time there was a bright light filled the sacrificial ceremony, everybody was surprised to see that light filled around the place. Everyone witnessed the brightness once the Vamana enters in to the sacrificial place; all sages and bali welcomed vamana. King of asuras bali on welcoming Brahmin vamana asked him how can I help you, on this occasion of sacrificial ceremony bali never say no or refuse to brahmanas for whatever they ask for.
